Hey all! This is Jingle Heimer Schmidt the jester here! This is the last day of my existence, as this is the last day of the Kingdom Rock VBS here in Ahousaht. I've had a really amazing time and it's sad to think this is my last full day here. It's my third time coming to Ahousaht, and my third time saying goodbye to these amazing people. I feel more connected this year than I have any other year, and I'm really gonna miss everyone, from the little kids to the elders.
In other news, Jacob the jester is finally a knight! John and I are gonna celebrate with him and the kids today as we teach the kids that the Bible helps us stand strong! This is the last time John, Jacob, and Jingle Heimer Schmidt are gonna help the kids learn about standing strong with God alongside Caroline the Blue Baroness. So excited!
My friend Aaron wants me to say that he misses Alisa, Samantha, Josh, Josh #2, and his mom. He can't wait to see you guys in a few days!
His Highness' best jester,
Aaron

Fromt Julianne!
Hey everyone!!! Its's been a really great time so far. I suddenly realized that this is gonna be my last time on the island and so it has been kind of emotional. But with that in mind, I have been a lot more intentional with my conversations. It has been really good but also really hard. Conversations have been really good and Christ has been at the center at a lot of them. But I am quickly realizing how much work still needs to be done here. I know that God will be glorified through all of this but I am definitely coming to the end of myself. I am emotional, and physically drained. It takes so much energy to be constantly moving and making plans and in our free time we are out having conversations with teenagers or playing with children. God is using this time of tiredness to teach me that I need to rely on him. I had a conversation with one of the adults here about the exact same thing that God is teaching me right now and I didn't realize until afterwards that He wanted that message communicated to both of us. I was telling this man that sometimes we are given more than we can handle not to bring us down but to help us realize that we need help!! As humans we are so stubborn and sometimes it takes things like fatigue to help us realize that we can rely on his strength. Some of the converstations I have had have been really good and I can see that God is clearly working in the hearts of those people, while others have left me wondering what good it was. But I know that I serve the all powerful God who loves every person that I get to talk to. I know that the truth I have the opportunity to speak into these people's lives will not come back void. God is good and I know that he is doing amazing things! VBS has gone really good. We have lots of kids, its actually kind of crazy the amount of kids we have. Its nothing compared to an OSBC VBS, but with the team that we have it is a lot. This morning / afternoon we lost power, so for the first 45ish minutes of VBS we had no power, so that was interesting. But God provides and we got power back! I have been really enjoying my time here and I'm really bummed that this might be my last time here. But I have been so blessed by the people and how loving and generous they are. The relationships are the best! I miss everyone back at home, but I am definitely happy that I get to share this experience with my parents and my brother. I hope all of you are enjoying your time back home!! I miss you all! See you soon!!

Monday July 6th
Hey All
Thank you for watching this blog. Wifi is still a bit sparse, but we are finding more signals available.
So far the weather has been quite warm, like Seattle has been the past few days. Today has been overcast and cooler than the weekend. But the scenery in Ahousaht hasn't changed and neither have the people, who are still warm and welcoming.
We had a meeting with the group of leaders and high school kids coming from Ahousaht down to Federal Way in August. The families and youth were upbeat and excited about this adventure that awaits them. This is the first time that anyone has sent a group of high school youth from Ahousaht on a cultural exchange this far away. It should be a great time for everyone involved, having the kids not only in the big city, but also experiencing the larger youth culture that we have.
The first day of VBS went quite smooth. We had 85 kids, which is a large portion of the kids this age here in Ahousaht. The kids were excited for games, fun, snacks, and learning about Jesus. We felt it was a very good showing and are expecting more kids for the next few days to show up as word gets around we are having "kids club" throughout the week!

From Bella!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello friends and family! Things are going great in Ahousat so far! I love the people here and the island is absolutely gorgeous! We had our first day of VBS today and it went pretty well. Although a lot of us are extremely exhausted, we are still excited to to see what the rest of the week holds! I've already met a ton of really amazing people and I have had many opportunities to talk to the other teenagers on the island. Last night was my favorite because we played volleyball on the beach and ran around with all of the kids and it was just a really great experience to spend my time getting to know everyone. It amazes me how nice everyone is here. I am doing really good and I can't wait to share more experiences with everyone when I get home!
P.S. if Gabby and Alisa are reading this, I really enjoy reading your letters everyday and I love you and miss you (:
